Applied Practice

Seniors Fitness Instructor

Work safely and effectively with older adults — functional movement, confidence-building and independence in active-ageing settings.

Hybrid — virtual + practical workshops

A population-specific certification for working safely, respectfully and effectively with older adults. Training older adults isn’t simply “fitness for people who are older” — it’s a distinct practice area built on safety, functional movement, confidence and independence.

This course equips practitioners with the knowledge, judgement and practical competence to support older adults through exercise — with greater attention to safety, functional movement, confidence-building and independence.

You will learn to adapt exercises for ageing-related changes, reduce fall risk through appropriate training, support mobility, strength and confidence, and deliver group or individual sessions safely.

It focuses on exercise-based support for healthy ageing within non-clinical scopes; it does not prepare participants for clinical rehabilitation or medical intervention, diagnosing medical conditions or causes of falls, or prescribing therapeutic interventions.

Awarded on completion: E3 Certified – Applied Practice (Seniors Fitness Instructor). Exemptions from prerequisites may be considered only through formal review, in line with E3Sports’ exemption policy.
